Proven in the mountain bike sector for years, the 10-pinion is now also being used on racing bikes. This is made possible by the new SRAM XDR freewheel standard. The advantages are obvious: In combination with the proven one-piece design, the cassette can be built even more easily with the same bandwidth. In addition, weight can be saved on the crank, since smaller chainrings are necessary for the same maximum development as with an 11-tooth sprocket. So that the jumps remain small without having to sacrifice bandwidth, SRAM has upgraded the new Red cassette to 12-speed . The additional 12th sprocket significantly extends the intended use the cassette in combination with the eTap AXS 1-speed group. Compared to the previous version, the shift gates have been further optimized and matched to the electronic eTap AXS rear derailleur. The result is even faster and smoother gear changes.
